PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an azulene-containing stable aqueous solution improved in light stability and suppressing generation of insoluble substances, and to obtain a preparation enhanced in transferability of azulenes and berberines to living tissues.SOLUTION: The aqueous solution is obtained by adding (C) a buffer agent and (D) a nonionic surfactant to an aqueous liquid containing (A) azulenes and (B) berberines. The obtained aqueous solution has improved light stability and excellent long-term stability since the generation of insoluble substances is suppressed. Further, since lipophilicity of azulenes and berberines which are pharmacologically active components is improved, the transferability thereof to the organismic tissue is enhanced.
