A mobility aid is provided that is particularly useful in medical institutions where patient walking is desired but the patient remains connected to one or many medical components. The system includes a mast connected to a base, the mast is aligned with the base, and any number of medical components are supported from the mast. The device geometry and connections make the device extremely stable and resistant to collapse. Also provided are an oxygen tank holder for reliably and conveniently holding the oxygen tank and a power management system that reliably supplies power without affecting the performance or mobility of the device. The device can be deployed to allow conversion between a compact storage configuration and a stable deployment configuration.
