An absorbent for a bodily fluid treatment article which can reduce the smell of ammonia. An absorbent (21) in a bodily fluid treatment article (1) includes first highly absorbent polymer particles (27) used as a single material with a first deodorizing component which has a deodorizing effect with respect to ammonia through the action of either adsorption or encapsulation, and second highly absorbent polymer particles (28) used as a single material with a second deodorizing component which has a deodorizing effect through the action of either neutralization or oxidation. In the thickness direction of the absorbent (21), the second highly absorbent polymer particles (28) are either above or below an assembly (29) of the first highly absorbent polymer particles (27) and water-absorbent fibres (26).
