The comminuter has a cutter disc which is driven by a motor and rotates about a horizontal shaft in a housing to which is connected on the cutter side of the cutter disc a long feed shaft in an upward-inclined oblique position. The whole apparatus stands on legs, so that an ejection channel opening from the housing opens at a sufficient height above the ground, and is supported by these legs in the direction of the loading torque arising from the feed shaft. For the selective comminution even of foliage, the feed shaft can be set steeper by shortening the supplementary third leg.
