PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument having a groove of such depth as not to reach a lumen in order to thin the distal end of a catheter, and having excellent operability by improving the flexibility without increasing the sliding resistance even if the instrument hits against an inner wall surface of a body cavity, etc.SOLUTION: The catheter 10 is a long-length medical instrument to be inserted into the body cavity. A recess groove 65 extending in the axial direction of the catheter 10 is disposed on the outer peripheral surface.
