This support catheter is provided with: a tubular-shaped distal shaft into which a medical treatment catheter can be inserted and which is formed by including an inner layer, a reinforcement layer, and an outer layer； and a proximal shaft having the leading end side portion disposed in an inner portion relative to the outer layer of the distal shaft.
