PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition apparatus capable of preventing the accuracy of subject information from deteriorating due to lags in propagation time caused by a medium.SOLUTION: An information acquisition apparatus according to the present invention includes a container for storing a deformable acoustic matching member, receiving means for receiving an acoustic wave generated by a subject to thereby output a signal, and processing means for acquiring subject information based on the signal. The receiving means is disposed to receive acoustic waves propagated by the acoustic matching member.
