Described is an isolated OMP106 polypeptide, which is an outer membrane polypeptide of Moraxella catarrhalis, and has a molecular weight of about 180 kD to about 230 kD as determined in SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, a peptide fragment of the OMP106 polypeptide, an isolated antibody, a vaccine, an antigenic composition and an isolated DNA. Use of a polypeptide, of a peptide fragment and of an isolated antibody for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of infection with Moraxella catarrhalis is further described.
