PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope having a configuration for supplying a fluid to a lens surface at a higher current speed by a larger flow rate with neither requiring a pump with higher supply pressure nor more largely dilating the inner part of a body cavity compared with conventional manners.SOLUTION: The endoscope includes: an insertion tube an observation lens 24 arranged at the distal end of the insertion tube a cover member 20 covering the distal end of the insertion tube a flow passage 27 whose inlet 27a and outlet 27b are opened on the outside of the cover member 20, where a flow passage diameter is formed to be smaller from the inlet 27a toward the outlet 27b, with respect to the cover member 20, and which supplies a fluid M from the outlet 27b to the observation lens 24 and a nozzle 25 which is opened at a position between the inlet 27a and outlet 27b of the flow passage 27 so as to supply a fluid R to the flow passage 27. The flow passage 27 supplies the fluid R supplied from the nozzle 25 and gas A inside the body cavity, which is introduced from the inlet 27a, from the outlet 27b toward the observation lens 24.
