Disclosed are a water pressure regulator of a fruit tree flower pruning device and a control method therefor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a water pressure regulator formed in a gun spraying water and a fruit tree flower pruning device connected to the gun by a hose to intermittently supply high-pressure water, comprises: a body； a valve body mounted on the body, having, on one side thereof, an inlet coupled to an inlet hose to which water is supplied and an outlet having an outlet hose coupled thereto, through which the water is discharged, and having a flow path therein so that the water can be circulated； an opening and closing member formed in the valve body to open and close the flow path connecting the inlet and the outlet； a pressure switch formed in the valve body to detect a variation in water pressure； a PCB having a control unit controlling an on/off operation of the opening and closing member according to a pressure signal detected by the pressure switch, controlling high-pressure water to be supplied to the outlet through the inlet by opening the opening and closing member when the pressure of the outlet is lower than a set reference value and controlling the opening and closing member to be closed when the pressure of the inlet is higher than the set reference value； and a power supply unit supplying power to the opening and closing member and the pressure switch.
