A lap protector consisting of a blanket having a first edge, a second edgespacedfrom the first edge and connecting edges that extend between the first edgeand the secondedge. A waist mounting is positioned on the first edge for attaching the firstedge of theblanket to a waist of a user. A knee mounting is positioned on the second edgefor attachingthe second edge of the blanket to the knees of a user. The blanket is securedin positionoverlying a lap of the user from the waist to the knees.
