A corral for fish is disclosed. The corral has at least one wall (30) that defines a pathway (40) along which fish are able to travel wherein the pathway is inwardly winding or a spiral or helical or labyrinth shape. A fish holding vessel is also disclosed that attaches to the outlet of the corral. The wall may include gates (31) that allow the spiral to be reconfigured to a circuit to hold fish in the corral and also includes returns (32) that insure that fish travel along the pathway in the same direction.
