Mebendazole is an antiparasitic drug that has been used safely for over 40 years. In recent years, mebendazole has been used for glioblastoma treatment. There are three polymorphs of mebendazole, but the relative polymorph content of existing drugs is different and the therapeutic anti-cancer relevance of different polymorphs is unclear. Mebendazole polymorph C, an oral drug, is an excellent form and reaches brains and brain tumors at effective concentrations. Combined use of mebendazole and a P-glycoprotein inhibitor further improves efficacy.
