The present invention relates to antibodies that recognize the CSCs (CSC) for the treatment of cancer, O-acetylated ganglioside -GD2 Rio side. The invention further contemplates a method of treating a patient in need thereof CSC cancer comprising administering to a patient a pharmaceutical composition and the antibody for the treatment of cancer containing the antibody CSC. The invention also relates to the use of O- acetylated ganglioside -GD2 Rio side as biomarkers of a method for diagnosing cancer and CSC CSC cancer.
