PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, which can effectively prevent infection of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in a non-human animal, and a vaccine composition using the novel Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a CDP-glycerol glycerophosphotransferase-deficient Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in which the activity of CDP-glycerol glycerophosphotransferase has been reduced or inactivated. The CDP-glycerol glycerophosphotransferase-deficient Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae can be obtained by gene disruption of the CDP-glycerol glycerophosphotransferase gene.
