Coated solid material (I) comprises a powdery solid material with a particle diameter of 1-40 mu m, preferably 4-6 mu m and a coating from a hydrophobic enveloping material (50-99 wt.%). An independent claim is included for a method for the preparation of coated solid material comprising distributing the powdery solid material with an average particle diameter (d 5 0) of 1-40 mu m in a solution of a hydrophobic coating material in a solvent, which does not dissolve the powdery solid material, and then lowering the temperature for precipitating and optionally isolating coated solid material in the obtained mixture.
