PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of improving connection strength of a connection member against tensile force of a signal cable.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes an image area sensor 29 for photoelectrically converting an optical image formed through a photographing lens, a flexible board 35 electrically connected to the image area sensor 29, a signal cable 37 electrically connected to the flexible board 35, a prism holder 33 for holding the photographing lens or a prism 27, a connection member 40 for connecting the prism holder 33 and the signal cable 37 in which one end is fastened to the signal cable 37, and a claw part 40d engaging with the prism holder 33 is provided to the other end, and a ring member 34 mounted to at least part of the outer periphery of the prism holder 33.
