To provide a cultivation method and a cultivation device in which culture medium cultivating plants is prevented from being disturbed even if a liquid level of liquid is allowed to repeatedly rise and fall, culture medium can be repeatedly used even after plant harvest, and excellent plants can be cultivated without causing root rot from the step of germination.SOLUTION: A cultivation method of the present invention is a method for cultivating plants R by using liquid containing water, which includes a process of repeatedly rising and falling a liquid level of liquid in a pot (container) 23a housing a chip 261 which contains ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer as a culture medium 26 cultivating the plants R.
