PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-based cosmetic having excellent high-temperature stability and formability, good application feeling and excellent safety.
SOLUTION: A mixture of candelilla wax and carnauba wax is immersed in one or more kinds of organic solvents selected from alcohols, ethers, ketones, hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., and the solvent-extracted fraction is removed e.g. by vacuum distillation to obtain a compound wax having a heating melting point of 68-85°C, an endothermic range of 37-78°C by DSC, an iodine value of 8-18 and uniform and fine crystal structure. An oil-based cosmetic, e.g. a lip cosmetic such as rouge having high-temperature stability, excellent moldability, good feeling in use and excellent safety can be produced by compounding the obtained compound wax.
