Positional information of a portion of the catheter in the patient's body is determined using the position sensor and electrical activity data-points of a surface of the target are acquired using the at least one electrode. An ultrasonic image of the target is obtained using the ultrasonic imaging sensor and positional information for the 10 electrical activity data-points of the surface of the target is determined. An electrophysiological map of the target is generated based on the electrical activity data-points and the positional information for the electrical activity data-points. Positional information for any pixel of the ultrasonic image of the target is determined and the pre-acquired image and the electrophysiological map are 15 registered with the ultrasonic image. The registered pre-acquired image, electrophysiological map and ultrasonic image are displayed on a display. 20 19/04/06,document9,22/9 FIG. 2 28 32 L_ - _ _J ' 4041 3 FIG. 3 SCAN TARGET CHAMBER AND OBTAIN MULTIPLE 50 2-D ULTRASOUND IMAGES TAG CONTOURS OF INTEREST ON SELECTED 52 2-D IMAGES IDENTIFY CONTOURS ON 54 REMAINING 2-D IMAGES ASSIGN 3-D COORDINATESI TO 2-D CONTOURS AND 56 RECONSTRUCT CONTOURS IN 3-D SPACE GENERATE 3-D MODEL K 58 OF TARGET CHAMBER SUPERMPOSE ADDITIONAL r.-60 MAPPING DATA
