The present invention relates to a composition of a monoalkyl ether isomer of monoanhydro-hexitol having an alkyl ether group (OR) at the C-3, C-5 or C-6 position of monoanhydro-hexitol, wherein the alkyl group R) is a linear or branched, cyclic or acyclic hydrocarbon-based group having 4 to 18 carbon atoms.
