A wound dressing for an aspiratedwound dressing system, with a wound interfaceregion for contacting or facing a woundsite； an aspiration port for receiving suction foraspiration of wound exudate； a liquid permeablepressure barrier disposed between thewound interface region and the aspiration portfor substantially preventing application of negativepressure from the aspiration port to thewound interface region； at least one atmosphericvent for equalizing with atmosphere thepressure at the wound interface region； and aliquid sensor for sensing liquid within thewound dressing for controlling application ofsuction by the aspiration unit.
