A compound having selective modulating activity at the alpha 2B and/or alpha 2C adrenergic receptor subtypes is represented by the general Formula 1:whereinn=1-4；X is C or N；R1-R6 can be the same or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of H, C1-6 alkyl, OCH3, OH, F, Cl, Br, CH2OH, CH2N(R7)2, C(O)R8, CH2CN, CF3, wherein R7 is H or C1-6 alkyl； and R8 is C1-6 alkyl or aryl.The compounds of Formula 1 can be incorporated in pharmaceutical compositions and used in methods of treatment of alpha 2 receptor mediated diseases and conditions.
