Provided is a liquid system comprising a first component and a second component the components selected from the group consisting of carbohydrates, sugar alcohols, food grade acids, food grade non-aqueous solvents and food grade salts wherein: a. the second component is different than the first component b. the system has a melting point lower than each of the components and c. the liquid system comprises 7% or less water. The systems are useful for protecting an active ingredient in a food system wherein the ingredient is stable at room temperature and retains its sensory properties after being diluted into an aqueous beverage for example to form a flavored aqueous beverage.Se proporciona un sistema líquido que comprende un primer componente y un segundo componente, los componentes se seleccionan del grupo que consiste de carbohidrato, alcoholes de azúcar, ácidos grado alimenticio, solventes no acuosos grado alimenticio y sales grado alimenticio en donde: a. el segundo componente es diferente del primer componente b. el sistema tiene un punto de fusión más bajo que cada uno de los componentes y c. el sistema líquido comprende 7 % o menos de agua. Los sistemas son útiles para proteger a un ingrediente activo en un sistema alimenticio, en donde el ingrediente es estable a temperatura ambiente y conserva sus propiedades sensoriales después de ser diluido en una bebida acuosa, por ejemplo para formar una bebida acuosa saborizada.
