PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nucleic acid molecule encoding a novel herpes antigen, a vaccine comprising the same, and use thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a nucleic acid sequence encoding a novel consensus amino acid sequence of a herpesvirus antigen and a gene construct/vector and a vaccine expressing the sequence. The present invention also provides a method for generating an immune response against a herpesvirus using the vaccine provided. Some of embodiments of the present invention provide methods for inducing immune responses against herpesvirus antigens comprising administering the nucleic acid molecule provided herein.
