PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing crystal growth of cloquintocet mexyl hydrate as a herbicide safener and for preventing impediment to spraying property or a function as a herbicide safener.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method of adding a polycarboxylate to a composition including cloquintocet-mexyl. The weight ratio of the polycarboxylate to the cloquintocet-mexyl is controlled to 1:100 to 1:0.001. The polycarboxylate is, for example, a polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, or a copolymer of maleic acid anhydride and 2,2,4-trimethylpentene.【課題】除草剤用毒性緩和剤クロキントセットメキシル水和物の結晶成長を軽減し、噴霧性や除草剤用毒性緩和剤としての機能性が妨げられるのを防ぐ方法を提供する。【解決手段】クロキントセットメキシルを含む組成物に高分子カルボキシレートを加える方法。高分子カルボキシレートのクロキントセットメキシルに対する重量比は１：１００～１：０．００１とする。高分子カルボキシレートの例としてはポリアクリル酸、ポリメタアクリル酸又は無水マレイン酸と２，２，４－トリメチルペンテンのコポリマーがある。【選択図】なし
