PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for discriminating two biological portions having light absorption characteristics different from each other and imaging the two biological portions at a high speed.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic imaging device 10 includes a wavelength variable light source 13 capable of irradiating a subject selectively with first light and second light having wavelengths different from each other, means 11, 12 for respectively detecting acoustic waves issued from the subject when irradiating it with the first light and the second light to respectively create first photoacoustic data and second photoacoustic data, and complex number conversion means 25 for creating complex number data obtained by making one between the first photoacoustic data and the second photoacoustic data a real part and the other an imaginary part.
