PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic device capable of suppressing deterioration in a quantitative property of optical characteristic information due to a composition corresponding to a reflective wave of a photoacoustic wave.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic device includes: an acoustic wave transmitter that transmits a transmitted acoustic wave to a specific region a controller that controls a transmission waveform of the transmitted acoustic wave to be transmitted from the acoustic wave transmitter a light source that emits light to which a region including the specific region is exposed when the acoustic wave reaches the specific region an acoustic wave receiver that receives the acoustic wave and outputs a time-series reception signal and a signal processor that acquires optical characteristic information on the basis of the time-series reception signal.
