To provide an optometer capable of providing wide area diffused light and linear light by one device, in which various defects of a conventional known streak retinoscope used in retinoscopy are solved.SOLUTION: In an optometer, a Maddox rod 4 and a condensing lens 5 are arranged in a housing 1 in this order or the opposite order along an optical path from an LED light source 2 provided in the housing 1 toward a light irradiation window 7 provided in a housing wall so as to pass through the housing wall.
