PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scan type observation device which can acquire an image with high spatial resolution while preventing reduction of usability.SOLUTION: A scan type observation device comprises: two or more scanners 9a, 9b which two-dimensionally scan illumination light by displacing emission ends 13a, 13b of optical fibers 12a, 12b guiding illumination light from a light source in directions intersecting with optical axes S, T an optical path synthesis part 16 which makes the illumination light emitted from each of the scanners 9a, 9b incident on a single optical path 17 a condenser lens 11 which condenses the illumination light incident on the optical path 17 by the optical path synthesis part 16 an optical detection part which detects return light returning from an observation object P due to irradiation of the illumination light condensed by the condenser lens 11 and a scanner switching part which alternatively switches the illumination light incident on the optical path synthesis part 16.
