PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trap that can capture insects without crushing and that enhances capturing probability by increasing trapping opportunity.SOLUTION: The needle type insect trap is composed of a swatting plate 2 and a handle 3, with needles 1 protruding on the swatting surface of the swatting plate 2. The needles 1 are 0.2-1 mm thick and 2-20 mm long, with intervals of 2-10 mm, with the number of 50-500 needles, and with the tip ends of the needles 1 on the same plane. The swatting plate 2 has a weight of 20-120 g and has the handle 3 fixedly connected. The handle 3 are 20-70 cm long and, when the needles 1 are closely touched to a plane 5, the handle 3 is fixedly connected with an angle of 5-30 degrees in the direction receding from the plane 5.
