This absorbent article (10) has: a liquid permeable surface sheet (14)； a liquid impermeable reverse surface sheet (12)； and an absorbent body (13) disposed between the surface sheet (14) and the reverse surface sheet (12). Grooves (21) in which a plurality of recessed sections (22) are disposed extend on the surface sheet (14) side said recessed sections (22) being formed by forming the surface sheet (14) and the absorbent body (13) integrally. Each of the recessed sections (22) has side walls (21d) and a bottom section (21c).
