PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and simple method and apparatus for selectively recovering gallate-type catechins from non-polymer catechins.SOLUTION: An aqueous solution containing non-polymer catechins is passed through a column 14 packed with a weakly acidic cation-exchange resin containing a carboxylic acid functional group to contact the aqueous solution containing non-polymer catechins with the weakly acidic cation-exchange resin and adsorb the gallate-type catechins in the aqueous solution containing non-polymer catechins.
