PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently perform desired inspection.SOLUTION: An inspection apparatus comprises a plurality of detection regions for each wavelength range. Each of the detection regions is made up of a plurality of sensor elements, arranged in a matrix, which detect light in the same wavelength range. The plurality of sensor elements are arranged such that adjacent ones of them detect light in polarization directions different from each other, while being disposed as a set in a number of the polarization directions. Each of the detection regions is formed into a rectangular shape elongated in a first direction. When viewed along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, the detection regions in all the wavelength ranges to be detected are arranged in at least one or more locations.
