A composition (C) for dyeing keratin especially human hair comprises a colorant, an associated polymer (PA) and a polymer (P) with units of (i) acrylamide, (ii) dialkyldiallylammonium halide, and (iii) vinyl carboxylic acid. An independent claim is also included for a process to dye hair using composition (C) where an oxidant is added at the time of applying the composition to the hair or after applying without an intermediate rinse and where the associated polymer (PA) and the polymer (P) are present in the coloring composition or the oxidizing composition or both.
