SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus of the embodiment includes respective means for labeling, acquisition, control, reconstruction, display and reception. The labeling means labels a spin included in a cerebrospinal fluid in a labeling region of a part of an imaging region of a subject. The acquisition means acquires an echo signal relating to a spin included in the imaging region according to a predetermined pulse sequence. The control means controls the labeling means and the acquisition means so as to perform a multiple times of cycles for acquiring the echo signal from a time point of labeling. The reconstruction means reconstructs a plurality of images within the imaging region based ON the echo signals acquired in each of the multiple cycles. The display means displays at least one of the plurality of images as a positioning image. The reception means receives the designation of an imaging cross section ON the positioning image.
