The present invention relates to an anti-inflammatory composition for treating or preventing chronic inflammatory diseases caused by excessive activities of NLRP3 inflammasome, by inhibiting the activities of the NLRP3 inflammasome of macrophages, comprising IL-4 or an IL-4 activator, and relates to a screening method thereof. According to the present invention, the anti-inflammatory composition has excellent effects in treating or alleviating inflammation, thereby being broadly used as a therapeutic agent for inflammation or a supplementary food for health comprising the same as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the screening method can be efficiently used for developing the therapeutic agent for inflammation and for studying the mechanism of IL-4 action.본 발명은 IL-4 또는 IL-4 활성화제를 포함하는, 대식세포의 NLRP3 인플라마좀의 활성을 억제하여, 상기 NLRP3 인플라마좀의 과활성에 의한 만성 염증질환의 치료 또는 예방을 위한 항염증 조성물 및 이의 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 항염증 조성물은 염증 완화 또는 치료 효과가 우수하므로, 이를 유효성분으로 함유하는 염증치료제 또는 건강보조식품으로 널리 사용할 수 있으며, 본 발명에 따른 스크리닝 방법은 IL-4 작용 기작 연구 및 염증치료제 개발에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
