Food, particularly a beverage for human consumption, the ingestion of which enhances cognitive processes such as intelligence, memory, creativity and mood, and/or produces energizing effects. Such food is composed of a composition dilutable or diluted in a liquid or semi-liquid solution. The composition includes at least one nootropic substance, preferably a cholinergic nootropic substance, that is, a substance involved in the formation and/or functioning of the acetylcholine neurotransmitter in combination with L-theanine
