A method for obtaining extracts from a natural mixtureof conjugated oestrogens from the urine of pregnant mares(PMU) is described. The extracts obtained according to theinvention meet the pharmaceutical specification in relationto conjugated oestrogens and the minimising of the contentof free oestrogens, even if old pregnant mares' urine and/orpregnant mares' urine which has been stored or transportedat elevated temperatures is used. The extracts containing amixture of conjugated oestrogens are obtained from the PMUby solid-phase extraction on semipolar adsorption resins.
