PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a periphery blind while thinning a thickness of an object in an apparatus holding the object with a membranous member.SOLUTION: An object information acquisition apparatus has: holding means for holding an object a probe receiving an acoustic wave propagated from the object held in the holding means through the holding means a casing configuring a holding container together with the holding means a matching liquid filled inside the holding container and pressure adjustment means including a liquid amount adjustment part adjusting an amount of the matching liquid inside the holding container and a distance adjustment part adjusting a distance between the holding container and the object.
