PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-like material capable of rapidly absorbing body fluid, hardly generating swelling blockage, capable of exhibiting absorption performance of a water absorbing polymer to maximum, and making absorbed body fluid hardly return when stress is applied to an absorber absorbing body fluid.SOLUTION: A sheet-like material 1 for an absorbent article includes long base parts 2, and a plurality of absorbing units 4 including an absorbing polymer 3 fixed to the surface of a non-skin facing side of the long base part 2. The sheet-like material 1 is obtained by aligning each of the absorbing units 4 so as to direct the longitudinal direction to one direction.
