PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to display a stereoscopic video that appropriately controls a stereoscopic effect of the stereoscopic video before a viewer feels fatigue and without being influenced by an environment at the time of appreciation or a physical condition.SOLUTION: A video display device includes: stereoscopic vision training means stereoscopic effect control means stereoscopic effect calculation means and stereoscopic vision video creation means. The stereoscopic vision training means obtains an evaluation value representing viewers stereoscopic vision performance. The stereoscopic effect control means determines whether to reduce a stereoscopic degree of a display video based on an input video from the evaluation value obtained by the stereoscopic vision training means, the input video, and viewing time of a stereoscopic vision video. The stereoscopic effect calculation means calculates a stereoscopic degree in accordance with the determination result of the stereoscopic effect control means.
