PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus of a novel shape of a gradient magnetic field pulse having noise suppression effects which executes pulse sequence including such gradient magnetic field pulse.SOLUTION: An MRI apparatus according to the present invention includes: a magnetic field application part which applies a high-frequency magnetic field pulse and a gradient magnetic field pulse according to a pulse sequence describing application strength and timing of the high-frequency magnetic field pulse and the gradient magnetic field pulse and a reception part which receives a nuclear magnetic-resonance signal generated by an object to be inspected by a magnetic field applied by the magnetic field application part.
