PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an esophageal catheter capable of certainly avoiding overheating of esophagus without suspension/termination of ablation therapy on a left atrium.SOLUTION: There is provided an esophageal catheter inserted into esophagus during ablation therapy on a left atrium, comprising: a catheter shaft 10 comprising a tip deformable part 15； a tip chip 20 fixed on a tip of the catheter shaft 10； an operation wire 30 which extends to an inner section of the catheter shaft 10 while intermittently changing a position of the catheter shaft 10 in a radial direction in an inner section of the tip deformable part 15 for deformation of the tip deformable part 15 and in which a rear end thereof may be subjected to a pulling operation. By the pulling operation to the operation wire 30, a part of the tip deformable part 15 is displaced in a radial direction of the catheter shaft 10 to press an inner wall of the esophagus so as to move the esophagus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4【課題】左房のアブレーション治療時において、当該治療を中断・中止することなく、しかも、食道が過熱されることを確実に回避することができる食道カテーテルを提供すること。【解決手段】左房のアブレーション治療時に食道内に挿入されるカテーテルであって、先端可変形部分１５を有するカテーテルシャフト１０と、カテーテルシャフト１０の先端に固定された先端チップ２０と、先端可変形部分１５を変形させるために、先端可変形部分１５の内部においてカテーテルシャフト１０の径方向位置を断続的に変化させながら、カテーテルシャフト１０の内部に延在し、その後端が引張操作可能である操作用ワイヤ３０とを備えてなり、操作用ワイヤ３０を引張操作することにより、食道の内壁を押圧して食道を移動させることができるように、先端可変形部分１５の一部がカテーテルシャフト１０の径方向に変位する。【選択図】 図４
