PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair on which a person lying on a bed, who requires a long-term care, can easily move and sit.SOLUTION: The wheelchair comprises: a seat on which a person who requires a long-term care sits a back rest provided on one of the front and rear edges of the seat so as to be freely rotated, and used to hold the back of the person a foot rest provided on the other of the front and rear edges of the seat so as to be freely rotated, and used to hold the feet of the person a leg frame able to be inserted under a bed a leg having an upward frame extending upward from one end of the leg frame, the upward frame holding the sides of the seat such that the sides are located higher than the upper side of a bedclothes on a bed and a lift mechanism for raising or lowering the seat by a height corresponding to an amount by which the seat is depressed by the person sitting on it. The non-leg sides of the seat, back rest, and foot rest are open.
