PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical preparation for inhibiting the atrophy of an alimentary canal and kidney during weight reduction, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition and a food that contain the pharmaceutical preparation.SOLUTION: An oral composition is provided that contains branched chain amino acid by 1.5-2.5 g and has a combination of specific amounts of leucine, isoleucine and valine as the branched chain amino acid. In particular, the composition has a granular form and contains 10-80 wt.% of branched chain amino acid containing leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
