PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic beverage which allows for inhibition of proliferation of heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium, and a method for inhibiting the proliferation of heat-resistant acidophilic bacterium by blending the catechins with the acidic beverage.SOLUTION: The acidic beverage includes bacteriostatically effective amount of catechins for alicyclobacillus bacterium, having a pH of 4.0 or less.
