A monitoring system (1) for monitoring a patient, the system (1) comprises a detection pad (2) and a control unit (4), the pad (2) comprising a planar member with two or more zones or regions (Z1, Z2, Z3...Zn) each of which comprises a sensor (3) for measuring a parameter, e.g. the same parameter, associated with the state of a patient, wherein the control unit (4) is configured to record, in use, over a predetermined period of time two or more measurements of said parameter measured by each sensor (3) and to analyse the four or more measurements and/or compare them to a database in order to determine a state of the patient.L'invention concerne un système de surveillance (1) destiné à surveiller un patient, le système (1) comprend un tampon de détection (2) et une unité de commande (4), le tampon (2) comprenant un élément plan ayant au moins deux zones ou régions (Z1, Z2, Z3, ..., Zn) qui comprennent chacune un capteur (3) destiné à mesurer un paramètre, par exemple le même paramètre, associé à l'état d'un patient, l'unité de commande (4) étant configurée de sorte à enregistrer, lors de l'utilisation, pendant une période de temps prédéterminée, au moins deux mesures dudit paramètre mesuré par chaque capteur (3) et à analyser les au moins quatre mesures et/ou à les comparer à une base de données afin de déterminer un état du patient.
