A method of deriving one or more individual thoracic parameters of a subject. The method comprises instructing a subject to perform a thoracic volume manipulation, receiving a plurality of measurements of a plurality of EM signals from a thoracic intrabody area of lungs of the subject during the thoracic volume manipulation, deriving a plurality of thoracic volume values at a plurality of different intervals during the thoracic volume manipulation so that each the thoracic volume value correspond with another of a plurality of estimated thoracic volumes achieved during the thoracic volume manipulation, and calculating at least one individual thoracic parameter of the subject by combining between the plurality of measurements and the plurality of thoracic volume values.La présente invention concerne une méthode de dérivation d'un ou plusieurs paramètres thoraciques individuels d'un sujet. La méthode consiste donner l'instruction à un sujet d'effectuer une manipulation du volume thoracique, à recevoir une pluralité de mesures d'une pluralité de signaux EM en provenance d'une zone intracorporelle thoracique des poumons du sujet durant la manipulation du volume thoracique, à dériver une pluralité de valeurs du volume thoracique à une pluralité d'intervalles différents pendant la manipulation du volume thoracique de sorte que chaque valeur du volume thoracique corresponde à une autre valeur d'une pluralité de volumes thoraciques estimés obtenus au cours de la manipulation du volume thoracique, et à calculer au moins un paramètre thoracique individuel du sujet en combinant la pluralité de mesures et la pluralité de valeurs du volume thoracique.
