PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a naturally-occurring component that has actions of promoting differentiation of adipocytes, increasing small-sized adipocytes and reducing enlarged adipocytes and to provide a composition that promotes differentiation of adipocytes and has high safety by using the identified component.SOLUTION: It is found that a specific coumarin derivative isolated from herb of the family Umbelliferae activates PPAR&gamma, promotes differentiation of adipocytes, as a result, increases an uptake quantity of insulin-dependent glucose by adipocytes and promotes secretion of beneficial adipocytokine from adipocytes. Further it is found that these actions reduces a blood-sugar level in obesity and diabetes model mouse.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】 脂肪細胞の分化を促進して、小型脂肪細胞を増やすとともに、肥大化した脂肪細胞を減らす作用を有する、天然由来の成分を同定すること。同定した成分を利用して、脂肪細胞の分化を促進するための安全性の高い組成物を提供すること。【解決手段】 セリ科ハーブより単離された特定のクマリン誘導体が、PPARγを活性化して脂肪細胞の分化を促進し、これにより脂肪細胞によるインスリン依存的なグルコースの取り込み量を増加させるとともに、脂肪細胞からの善玉アディポサイトカインの分泌を促進させることを見出した。さらに、これら作用により、肥満・糖尿病モデルマウスにおける血糖値を低下させることができることを見出した。【選択図】 なし
